The olive-shaped ends prevent pinching and keep the bit quieter and more stable in the mouth. Since the rings don’t rotate, the rein aids are slightly more direct but still mild on the poll. However, the difference is barely noticeable to most horses and riders. The double-jointed mouthpiece distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and bars.
